If you are anything like me, you’ve gone through many stages of decorating in your life. When I was a teenager, I went crazy with a black and white themed bedroom that was accented with rainbow-colored pillows and accessories. As I got older, I jumped on the sponge-painting craze (thankfully that painting technique has been put to rest) with a sunshine and garden-inspired bedroom that exploded with shades of yellow and green. Since then, I’ve explored white décor (love it but too much of a struggle with a shedding black dog), earth-tones, and more vibrant interior spaces. In many of these rooms, I felt that I needed to have lots of personal items and accessories to make the space feel warm, cozy, and unique. Over the years, I’ve seen the beauty and ease that a simple, uncluttered space can create. It’s as if the stress of the day is replaced with a calmness when retreating to a room where less is surely more. Check out the beautiful rooms below, pick a space in your home that could use a “simplified” makeover and experience the feeling created from a minimalistic design approach. Get inspired!
