The high-waisted short is being met with a small amount of resistance by some. To some degree I can understand the hesitation–they’re infamous for creating a flat butt and accentuating the hips. But years of genius design since their last reign has served the high-waisted short well. They are now pieces that can be dressed up or dressed down and remain chic either way. If you are of slender build, a pleated or shorter version will flatter your frame. If you have a curvy shape, the flowy high-waisted shorts will provide a cinching waist and a skirt-like bottom that’s both glam and comfortable. And remember the shorts that had the wrap layer to make it look like a skirt– of yeah– they’re back. In fact, Yumi Kim has some totally awesome ones right now (link to her site below).
