Monique Lhuillier is one of the most noted, sought after, and talented bridal designers of today. She is hit among celebrities, Ashlee Simpson, Katie Holmes and more recently Vanessa Manillo and Reese Witherspoon have wore her designs at their nuptuials. Not failing to mention that her ready to wear collection has been a favorite amongst celebs for some time now. Lhuillier was born in the Philippines and grew up in Switzerland. After graduation she moved to Los Angeles’s to attend The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. During her time at FIDM she got engaged to her now husband Tom in 1995. While searching for her wedding gown Monique was surprised by the lack of stylish wedding dresses. Having had an affection for evening gowns and bridal while at FIDM, Monique launched her first bridal collection in 1996. The collection received great reviews from both editors and buyers alike. Tom joined the company as CEO, to turn Monique’s vision to establish a couture design house into reality.
With a focus on glamorous fabrics, embellishments, and cuts, her designs are always classed as romantic and refined.
