As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I’m constantly looking for ways to re-purpose the pieces I have in my home because I tend to be a bit of a pack rat and refuse to throw things away. As I browse for fun DIY projects, I’m always so amazed by the creativity and artistry some people posses. Who thinks of this stuff!? Who’s hands are this steady!? Here’s a few of my faves lately.

Casie these are really great ideas that I definitely wouldn’t have thought of. If only I had more room in our kitchen for a dresser island. Have a fantastic weekend despite the inferno!
Me too!!! File away in “when I have a real house” haha
Thanks for posting our re-purposed ladder!!!
~Ashli from The Maillardville Manor
Of course!! It is seriously such a cute idea!
My two favs are the ladder for blanket storage and the dresser island…brilliant! These two items will find a home in my house for sure. Thanks so much!!
I absolutely LOVE the idea of mounting cookie sheets on the wall as magnet boards! Such an adorable idea. I love the color too, are they normal sheets that have been painted?
Hi Cortney!
I think these were painted. But you could paint them as well as cover them with a fabric or paper you love. Since you can just use magnets either way, you can decorate them however you’d like and just have fun with it!! Ive been meaning to try it soon using fabric so Ill keep you posted!
Me and my kids love doing DIY projects and you’ve just given me a new DIY idea for our next project. Thank you for this.
GOOD!!!! If you end up taking pics, send them our way!!! We’d love to see what you all did! :)

My children love doing DIY project and you’ve presently given me a new DIY idea for our subsequently project. Thank you for this.
I’m in the process of buying a house and am also a serial hoarder so all of this will come in mightily handy. I love the chevron painted rug!
Great post.
[...] right around the corner and pumpkin patch outings on many weekend schedules, I thought I’d round up some DIY pumpkin inspirations! I love seeing the pumpkins that are doused in glitter or spray painted to [...]
I always think I can do these DIY projects and then they fail miserably. I tried to carve an intricate pumpkin for halloween this year; yeah, it broke in half. The painted on wallpaper is so beautiful but I would muck that up so irrevecably that I would have to hire someone to come fix it. T-shirts into scarves? Dressers into islands? Beautiful ideas. I’ll continue shopping at Ikea until my creative instincts kick in.
Oh Gretta – please don’t give up !
It’s NOT an instinct and anyone can be creative – but it takes practice to learn techniques.
All of these projects are beautiful, but not everyone can dive in and recreate a neat idea easily on the first try.
Try carving a cute lower difficulty pumpkin, and following it up with one a bit harder.
Like the painted on wallpaper?
Grab a roll of cheap white paper and practice the design you like.
Modify it. Try it another way – until you find what works for *you* !
To anyone who looks at these and says “I could ~never~ ”
YES YOU CAN!
Baby steps and lots of laughter , you can release the creative inside of you :)
Just stumbled(upon) this! Fantastic post and inspiration! Thanks for sharing!
