Well hello, 2012!!!!! How was everyone’s holiday season!? I’m still soaking up some sun with friends and family in Florida and all this time off work has made me reflect so much on how amazing this year has been (thanks in great part to many of YOU!). It’s also helped me think about some of the things I look forward to accomplishing in 2012 like getting organized, expanding whippedSTYLE (yay!!) and shopping smarter.
2011 was no doubt an awesome year during which I learned a TON, met some amazing people (<— sappy alert) and totally surprised myself in so many ways. Starting this blog was certainly a highlight and it really helped me open up to new trends and get a little more daring with fashion, accessories and home decor. But re: my fashion choices, I still have some hurdles I’m eager to jump over. Here’s the ish: like many women, I try to stretch my budget and wardrobe to get the most bang for my buck which often leads to the purchases of neutrals, solids and simple pieces. But my resolution for 2012 is to BREAK these shopping habits and start getting a little more daring. For example, I always see gorgeous statement necklaces that I would love to add to my collection but I get intimidated by the price tag. What I fail to recognize, though, is that those statement pieces are capable of lending so much to so many ensembles and can transcend both seasons and trends… so why would I deny my closet that touch of fabulous?? Here’s a few of 2012 closet goals. Are there any fashion resolutions you’ve made for yourself?!
