Here we go again!!! I don’t know about you, but holiday eating hit me hard this season. I didn’t hold back one bit on the delicious cookies, the comforting pot roast or the guilty pleasures (and did you SEE this spread I tweeted about?! I ate many many spoon fulls). So now!!!, to get back on track. I’ve been hearing about Xtend Barre and I’m so upset that there isn’t a location in D.C. yet!!! Can someone get on that, please? But to see what all the hubbub was about, I had a little Q&A with Orange County Xtend Barre Studio Co-Owner and pilates guru, Courtney Miller (if you’re in her area, stop by!). Here’s some inspirations that are kicking’ my butt + expert tips!
What’s the key to the Xtend Barre workout that makes it so amazing?
It accomplishes a lot, in a little amount of time. We offer a fun, effective, full body workout with fun music in 55 minutes. Since the classes are constantly changing, your mind won’t get bored and your body won’t plateau.
What is it about Xtend Barre that makes such a big difference?
Xtend Barre not only tones your muscles from head to toe, but burns a ton of calories, so you can see the definition of those long lean dancer muscles! Most of our studios offer your first class for free, because you really need to try to believe it! People always notice a difference in just a few classes.
What would you suggest as a chic, yet practical workout get-up for a barre class?
I like to choose outfits that I can wear around before barre to run errands or grab a coffee, making them fashionable and functional. My go-to outfit would be black Integrity Crop pants by Lululemon, an Eco Performance Cami by Beyond Yoga in Dawn, an Adagio Wrap by Lululemon to keep warm, and hair wrapped up in a bun with a TwistBand metallic hair tie.
