Am I the last person to hear about MyPoints? I was recently asked to check out the site and discuss/see what think. What I think is that I wish I had known about this a while ago. Cash back and rewards from my purchases? Awesome. But I’m married.. so lets be honest, I’ll be opting for gift cards and such that have to be used to shop more…oops :)
If you’re not familiar with it, here’s the deal. You visit the site, sign up, fill out some basic info about your shopping habits and lifestyle and start browsing shopping. There are definitely some great offers and deals at MyPoints and every time you shop, so long as you click the shop through the MyPoints site first, you earn points for every dollar you spend. Those points can add up over time and be used for cash back, airline deals or, better yet, more shopping.
So while you can earn points through email offers, taking market research companies’ survey–let’s be honest. The most common way you and I are going to earn points is to just visit MyPoints before making any online purchase. They likely host what you’re shopping for so as long as you click the shop’s link through MyPoints and THEN shop–you get points. I also like that you can use their search bar and they automatically find the best price.
Not gonna lie… I’m kind of annoyed I didn’t know about this 30 days ago. Do you know how much I’ve needed to get lately?! Let’s look at this mess of regret:
Had I known about this a month ago… I’d have a rack of points. MAN! Better late than never, though, right?! Nonetheless it’d be nice to have some fun spending money at a favorite store just for getting the things I needed to get anyway.
So if you sign up, there are other ways to get points. You can share things on your Facebook or twitter and if your friends sign up you get 750 points off the bat. Plus 10% of all the eligible Points your friends earn is awarded to you as Bonus Points. You can also check out coupons (some printable) which are great before a Target trip, for example (my Saturday morning ritual).
Some other perks to signing up? – You’ll receive Double Points on the purchases you make in the first 30 days. – You’ll earn 10 Points for every coupon you print and redeem. Plus, earn 25 Bonus Points when you print and redeem 10 or more coupons.
