Wedding season is finally winding down which means you likely have a few dresses burnin’ a hole in your closet, right?! Of the many things I love about wedding season, it’s buying fun fabulous dresses to just have on hand. However, I dislike that when I buy/splurge on super amazing dresses, I’m tagged all over town wearing said super amazing dresses and left feeling as if my dress recycling opportunities have dwindled. Not fun, right!!?
BUT!!! this year I’ve been trying something different– I’ve been abandoning the idea that a splurge of a dress needs to sit, covered, in my closet until the next event with a completely different guest list. Instead, it can be accessorized in a fun and relaxed way and worn anywhere! You can easily street-up a gown with a little layering or add a floppy hat to a semi-formal dress. I mean… might as well get some use out of that splurge before ultimately deciding to cosign it! Here’s two dresses I’m dying over and how they can be styled for now and later. (P.S. did I just make up “street-up”? I think I did. And I think I like it..)
Rebecca Taylor Charm Me Gown | Principessa Sandal | Bottega Veneta Hand-Painted Knot Clutch
Rebecca Taylor Charm Me Gown | Wal G Cut Out Shoulder Blouse | Proenza Schouler PS1 Leather Satchel | Asos Spike Stretch Bracelet | CC Skye Spike Love Bracelet | Very Me Grey Crystal Silver Plated Skulls Black Cord Braided Bracelet

I love that little patterned dress, especially as the wedding outfit. Beautiful transition to fall with those dark browns. Love it.
