This is only the second installment of this series and already I’m loving it!!! It’s so amazing to dive into little pieces of fashion history and gain an even greater appreciation for its depth. Very few things in life unyieldingly influence generation after generation–and certainly very few do so with as much criticism along the way.
Not surprisingly, Coco Chanel is at the root of yet another closet staple. Drawing much inspiration from the closets of her lovers, Coco created pieces that women could effortlessly and comfortably wear while still maintaining a touch of femininity and sex appeal.
It is believed the pullover sweater was first introduced for women in Chanel’s Deauville, France shop, just before the start of WWI. By 1915, most of France was in love with Chanel’s designs and, as word spread globally, sweaters became sexy staples of the 1920′s and even acceptable for evening wear by the 1930′s. Fast forward two more decades and tight-fitting sweaters were must-haves for women of all ages, to be worn over brassieres that perfectly lifted and pointed.
Today, I think we’d all agree that the perfect pullover is absolutely irreplaceable! It’s hard for me to even imagine life without! Adorably edgy with cutoffs, ankle booties and studs or sexy and chic with cigarette jeans, pointy toe pumps and pearls, the sweater is definitely one that will continue to transcend generations, wouldn’t you agree! Here’s a few looks I’m loving with the ever-timeless sweater.

Hello dear :) I discovered your blog through a google search on the Loeffler Randall Rider bag and I’m just…loving it! :)
You have great taste! I just LOVE LOVE LOVE your picks.
I’m kind of…in between the mini rider bag with the black “dots” or the nude version with gold. Which one do you prefer?

thats SUCH a hard choice! I love love the judith-pink one but Id probably buy black for the added versatility. Don’t you wish we could just have both?!
