Don’t worry, Rach. Some of us still LOVE maxi dresses and skirts. Seriously one of my favorite staple pieces for spring. Maxi dresses just make me feel like a girl, you know? Feeling the fabric wisp between your legs when you walk, having to lift a side when you walk up steps… there’s just something so dainty and lady-like about a maxi. Here’s a few of my favorite maxi dresses for spring thus far. Of course Issa is on point… really with this high-glam number? And I wish I had a place to wear this one… okay.. and the budget!!! GOR.GEOUS. But I think this is my favorite in the ‘affordable’ and ‘practical’ arena. Imagine the layering potentials!!

If you’re looking to update your wardrobe for spring without breaking bank, a visit to Target is a must!! I know that sounds like a super staged intro–but it’s so true. I tend to go at least twice a season to load up on staples I wear everyday such as tees and tanks (they’re the best, right?!), but I also love to add a few trendy pieces so that I can maximize spring trends without spending a fortune on one piece that I may or may not wear next season. Florals are a spring trend every season, so thats not ground breaking… but what I’m loving this season is the floral look on a black background versus the more conventional white background–totally makes the floral pop, doesn’t it?! So in addition to adding this new floral look to your closet, be sure you have the spring staples you need. I always say the most important pieces for a new season are the most versatile: a perfect tee in every color, a pair of dramatic-print pants that work in various color pallets, a jacket and/or blazer (…and, hehe) and a wedge shoe that you can wear with everything–can you say ‘CHECK!’ to all?!

It’s Time for Springtime.

Not just for camping trips and lazy Sundays anymore! Puffer vest are the answer to bold, fun and boyish winter layering that can be easily transformed into a look that’s girly and glam. Puffer vests can be worn with everything from jeans to maxi skirts. I always love legging with boots, a t-shirt + a button up and a puffer vest to finish it off. But Im excited to explore the dressed up version of this trend! A skirt + a waist cinching belt and voila!, you’re cozy and chic. And if you think you just want to test the puffer vest waters, check out this one from Forever21–it’s on MAJ sale!
PS. Fridy cuteness? Really? Happy Friday!

Apparently I’m obsessed with all things cozy right now. The cocoon coat is such a winter must-have and adds such a relaxed sophistication to any look. Because they tend to be rather boxy or drapey, depriving us of the cinched waists and structured silhouettes we’ve become accustom to, it’s best to pair a cocoon coat with leggings and heels or tapered slacks and strappys–helps to really maximize your length. How much fun are these warm, comfy little numbers?! And I definitely even found a few bargains! Two of my favorites (this one and this one) are even less than $200–phew!

A military jacket, sometimes called a utility, surplus or cargo jacket is, for the second year in a row, a totally must-have for fall! If you follow me on instagram you know I love mine. Last week I wore the military jacket with stripes (always a favorite) here but I feel like the military jacket goes with almost everything in my closet. My current fave outfit is a floral top, skinny white jeans and heeled sandals. But in that fall it’s perfect to swap out the white jeans for leather leggings with ankle boots. The military jack is totally the perfect transition jacket!!! Don’t wait to buy one because they’re selling out fast!

I couldn’t be more excited that it’s Friday!!!! Tonight I’m heading to Chicago for some family fun. My cousin is getting married to the doll he’s been dating for like eleven years (they started dating when they were 15, awwwwwwwww) and I couldn’t be more excited for them! I’ll also get to spend some QT with the in-laws who happen to also live in Chi-town so it’s going to be a win-win of a weekend!!! Since our flight leaves right after work I have to strive for the jet setter chic look today… hmmmm what to wear!? As one who’s comfortable in heels, I think some comfy boyfriend jeans, heels and a cute tank ought to fit the bill, right?! Or do I go maxi? Either way, I tend to get chilly on planes (and in life) so I always plan for a scarf or light cardi in addition to whatever I wear… plus scarves make for a great neck snuggle, don’t they?
Hope you all have a great FABULOUS weekend!!!!
