My go-to has always been a messy bun, but sometimes my bangs decide to have a mind of their own and the messy bun just doesn’t work anymore. That is why the very cute, very elegant and easy-to-do side braid with a messy bun is my new go-to. So summery, right? It literally takes all of 10 minutes (maybe 5 if you’re a speedy braider) and the best part is that the look can transition from casual day to romantic dinner without having to re-do it. You only need 3 things to complete this look: a handful of bobby pins, a hair tie (optional) and a little hair spray. The tutorial at the end is perfection!

Move over metallics! We’re stepping it up.
I’d probably wear sequins everyday if I could, but that would just not fly at my job. My latest sequin obsession are these sexy sequin pants. No longer are these pants meant only for a night out or an event. They pair perfectly with your everyday basics. So how do you do it? Just pretend the sequin isn’t there!! Black sequin pants = black pants, gold sequin pants = camel trousers–voila!! Don’t be scared. Throw on a grey t-shirt, a black blazer and black pumps and BAM! Super adorable; it’s s been my go-to outfit. (Can I have a go-to outfit for sequin pants?)

Could it be any colder? This is getting silly. The one piece I’ve been reaching for all week is my fur stole; it’s the perfect accessory to offer a super cozy feel to your look and its soooooooo warm. SO warm. As much as I still love my faux fur vests from last year and am still wearing the crap out of it, sometimes it’s a little much with my other layers. A faux fur stole, on the other hand, is totally the perfect marriage of form meets function. It keeps me super warm but doesn’t add any bulk under my coat. Here’s hoping for a snowy weekend so I can keep wearing mine! Do you have one yet?

Not just for camping trips and lazy Sundays anymore! Puffer vest are the answer to bold, fun and boyish winter layering that can be easily transformed into a look that’s girly and glam. Puffer vests can be worn with everything from jeans to maxi skirts. I always love legging with boots, a t-shirt + a button up and a puffer vest to finish it off. But Im excited to explore the dressed up version of this trend! A skirt + a waist cinching belt and voila!, you’re cozy and chic. And if you think you just want to test the puffer vest waters, check out this one from Forever21–it’s on MAJ sale!
PS. Fridy cuteness? Really? Happy Friday!

According to a picture I spotted at my parent’s house over the holidays, I’ve been wearing turtlenecks since the age of three, but somewhere along the way they became uncool to me. Maybe it’s because they remind me of my horrible choices in fashion during the 90s. Or maybe because, thanks to my childhood, I felt like a midwest soccer mom while wearing them (I’m not hating on the Midwest, obvi, I grew up there and actually love it!). Whatever my feelings might have been towards turtlenecks, Im thankful it was short-lived. I realize now that I love the simplicity and sophistication of a turtleneck. And the fact that they’re easy to incorporate into existing outfits makes me love turtlenecks that much more–they’re like the t-shirt of winter and Im all about them. My fav look of moment is a turtleneck under a shift dress or a structured short-sleeve shirt. It’s kind of impossible to not love a turtleneck especially during these cold winter months!! Just avoid ribbed. Please.
