Working with bareMinerals to run my first half marathon was seriously such a dream. They could not have been more amazing and, hello!, I got to play with makeup while checking something off my bucket list!!!
I’ve been having a blast testing several of their newer products, but in the last few weeks I’ve been paying close attention to the pieces I reach for most frequently so that I could give you an accurate rundown of my daily makeup regimen. As you can see, I tend to keep it pretty neutral. I rarely play with eyeshadows and I’m still too chicken to get crazy with lip color (no you don’t understand, I look ridiculous with lipstick on), so this regimen is perfect for creating an easy, everyday look. And a couple people asked about Well-Rested when I instagrammed it and, yes, I love it!!! It just brightens everything around the eye—total life-saver. As for the cheek color, I like to brush just a little bit of The Confession in the contours of the cheek, then dust just a touch of Aphrodisiac closer to the cheekbone; it creates a bit of a boho, naturally sun-kissed look.

I spotted this striking vanity tray and display on Pinterest last night and immediately fell in love with how glam and girlie it was. It’s actually from Glitter Guide’s Style At Home with Amanda Dawbarn of 100 Layer Cake and the entire spread is just stunning—arguably one of my favorite Style at Home’s to date. But this image just captured that part of me that believes everything around me deserves a pretty container or display. And a display that channels old Hollywood glam using ornate frames is all the better to me. So I scoped out Etsy and found some great options for a super chic vanity tray. So excited.

If you’ve procrastinated getting a wand clampless curling iron–maybe waiting paid off! You can totally just repurpose your with-a-clamp curler! My aunt did this to her curling iron and when I saw it, it was definitely one of those, ‘why didn’t I think of that!?’ moments. Brillz. It doesn’t offer up a smaller barrel size at the end, but it still works beautifully! It’s so easy, I feel guilty even calling it a DIY.

I received some samples of Davines Love Shampoo and Conditioner a few months ago, but since I receive samples so frequently (which I LOVE!! keep ‘em comin’!), I just casually tossed them into my big bag of samples-to-test. Big mistake. HUGE. If only I had known how amazing these products are, I would have bumped them to the front of the line much sooner!!!
I finally tried this Love potion out and, can I tell you, for the first time in a long time my hair felt pure and clean in a way that was light, soft and oh-so-dreamy. I used the smoothing line (though they do make one for curly hairy hair as well) and felt it offered up the perfect amount of volume and bounce–something I rarely experience with my longer locks. Loved it!!! And the scent? Perfection. It’s subtle and fresh with a hint of floral notes–not too much, but definitely not too little, which is perfect in my opinion since I tend to use a few styling products and hate clashing aromas. (I mean, don’t you?)
I also think the world Davines, which makes me love their Love even more–such a great family-owned company (you can read more about them here). I immediately ordered some on Amazon (because you can get bigger bottles) but you can also find Devines Love Shampoo and Conditioner at any Barneys location–You can even order minis to test out first for just 10 bucks. You won’t be disappointed!!!

Moist, nude lips lend a super sexy touch to any look. Nude lips with jeans and T — so easy breezy chic. Nude lips with leather leggings? Total sex kitten. Nude lips with a perfectly polished ensemble? So together. Do you have a favorite? So far, the Jouer products offer up my favorite shade of nude, but I’ve yet to try the Tom Ford and I hear it’s a game changer!

Admittedly, I’ve never loved bangs. Some women can really pull them off, but I have never been one of those women. And regardless, I’ve always held the position that even women who can pull off bangs still look better without them. But leave it to this hotness and this eternal girl crush to totally prove me wrong. Thanks, New Girl. You’ve now given me the ridiculous hilarity that is Schmidt, AND a new found love for bangs. Dare I? I mean, how cute?!
