I was recently asked to review the Derek Cardigan eyeglasses over on Coastal.com (they have tons of designer eyeglasses). It was perfect timing, really, because I’d been dying to get a new pair of huge, Jenna-Lyons-in-Fast-Company, geek chic glasses. And the selection totally didn’t disappoint! I was so torn!!! I actually started thinking I might want a pair in oatmeal or mauve, but I opted to keep it …predictable! And Im so glad I did.
Okay, so re the ordering process—not going to lie, I was pretty nervous about ordering glasses online. How could I possibly know how they’d look on? But, luckily, Coastal.com actually had tons of different face type examples, so that helped a little. I tend to find myself in a particularly unique pinch when it comes to shopping for glasses, though. I have an awkwardly small head. Like… shop for kids glasses small. So I loved that they actually had a child among their face type examples! I just set it to that and let it ride! While I was going for huge anyway, the child-size face actually clued me in to when a pair would actually be way too big. It took some browsing but I think I found a great pair. Voila! What do you think?
As for the glasses, they’re perfect. They’re pretty light weight, they don’t slip and they feel sturdy; I’m not in constant fear that they’ll break. And even if I did break them, no biggie because they weren’t a fortune!! The whole Derek Cardigan line was pretty reasonably priced! Oh!! And let me also say that I was STUNNED with how fast these came. STUNNED. I think I ordered them on a Thursday and they were in my mailbox that Saturday. Seriously? For prescription lenses that’s insane!!

I love the way Tracy’s pieces can occupy any space with ease. I feel like her work would be perfect in a large living space or an office that’s in desperate need of a splash of color, you know? Her work is just understated glam at its best; it’s muted and simple but colorful and thoughtful. I love her style. Be sure to check out her shop on Etsy!

Remember the awesome mouse pad we found in this post? Love it! But, ever the procrastinator, I still haven’t ordered it. So, obviously I was super excited to find a tutorial to just make it! So awesome. (I think I’ll do a pale pink or gold… thoughts?)
It’s no secret that I love spray paint. I genuinely believe there’s nothing a can of spray paint can’t fix, glam up or brighten. From adding some flair to a simple white bowl to making chalkboards out of old refrigerator magnets, I’ve always believed a can of spray paint is the answer to any project. Check out a few of these awesome DIYs that you can do with just a roll of tape and a can of spray paint! I so never thought of adding a vibrant touch of color to folding chairs or a layer of shimmer to my hangers, but both add such a perfectly pretty twist, don’t you think!? And business cards? Stop it. Leave it to Camille of Camille Styles to think of something so easy and so chic. What else can we spray paint……

I totally had one of those nights where I got stuck looking at food porn on Pinterest for longer than I care to admit. I can’t wait to try so many new recipes! But these three summer-inspired desserts stood out, obviously. This weekend.. Oh this is happening.

The hubs and I spent a good portion of the weekend trying to get our entryway in order. It’s a mess, guys. I swear part of the reason I’m so excited for spring is so we can get the millions of coats we currently have flooding entryway OUT OF THE WAY! Luckily, a friend of mine is moving to Japan (well.. that’s not lucky, but you know what I mean), so this weekend we snagged one of her shelving units, which I think will be a big help. Here’s what I’m dealing with: A small space, tons of puppy gear, a HUGE, super ugly fuse box–which, by the way, is LITERALLY the first thing you see upon walking in–and a duo that needs 24/7 convenience (don’t ask us to worry about hangers and the like–it won’t happen). We definitely need a new catch-all bowl–something a little larger than our other DIY’d ones, maybe a tray?… and an umbrella stand is a must since I finally bought a cute umbrella! And a chalkboard for the entryway? Genius. I’m on it! I’m also thinking I love this ‘Welcome Home, Love’ print to cover the fuse box. Thoughts? Here’s a few other things I have in mind…
