Happy Monday! Always a little late to the party, I just heard the Evolution of Music from Pentatonix this weekend and …WOE. They just might be the ultimate a capella group! Give a listen! They start in the 11th century, which is so gorgeous, of course, and seamlessly work their way up to present day—it’s so awesome. The 40′s is my favorite for sure… so born in the wrong decade! What’s yours?

Hope everyone had a FABULOUS weekend!!! I had one of those weekends that was somehow busy, relaxing and productive, all at the same time–don’t you love those!? And can we all agree that Sunday night T.V. is officially awesome?? I’m a little torn on the show Girls– On one hand, I love the honesty and quick-witted humor of the show. On the other, I think it loses some of those ‘honesty points’ when it crosses the “clumsy mouth” line–I just don’t believe anyone in real life is that dumb and irreverent– so the jury’s still out.
HOWEVER, as I tweeted last night, the person responsible for their episode’s soundtracks needs to be my new best friend. The music of the show is INCREDIBLE! At the end of last night’s episode they played this favorite by Robyn and it’s a must listen to!!! Such a fun, upbeat song. Plus, you can’t beat the fact that Robyn busts out a full-on electric slide box mid-video. Her ensemble in the video seems to fit the mood of the song (floral bottoms? Love) but I love putting a more chic spin on it. Happy Monday!

LMFAO is the music duo thats been helping us all rally lately. You CANNOT hear one of their songs and not get the urge to hit the town… or at least hit your day. Call me a fashion blogger, but their lyric “animal print pants out control” from the single “Sexy and I Know it” really resonated with me as they are, in fact, *out. control*
A little more about LMFAO?
Their name is a text short– I mean, c’mon. That’s hilarious. And some of their videos? They make me, well… LMFAO. The absolutely ridiculous team has fun with their art and as the son and grandson of Berry Gordy, how could they not? They formed in 2006 and released Party Rock in 2009. Their 4th single, “Shots“, became the biggest hit from that album although, truthfully, I didn’t know they were responsible for that song until about 5 minutes ago.
Their huge claim to fame came with their second album Sorry for Party Rocking . Their fun and comedic lyrics are always the perfect compliment to their fun, electric beat creations and together they’re a never-fail when it comes to perking your spirits.

If you follow me on twitter or Facebook, you know my husband recently stumbled upon Mayer Hawthorne. Ever since, Hawthorne has become a
minor major obsession of mine. He’s kind of the cutest thing Ive ever seen and, aside from his good looks and charm, his music is everything that is perfect about Sunday mornings. It’s semi-romantic, oftentimes funny, usually sexy and undeniably fun. With his doo-wop-esk tone, Mayer Hawthorne inspires very ‘Mad Men-inspired‘ looks with a bit of a badass twist. Would you agree? In the look below I feel like you’d find me in a bar sipping a martini- shaken not stirred- and in my Chole bag you’d find the perfect shade of red Yves Saint Laurent lipstick and a twenty-two (as if I even know what a twenty-two looks like… but it sounds pretty badass).
