I clearly remember the first time I walked into an A.L.C. boutique in NY. I was immediately smitten: the clean lines; the feminine pieces with just a touch of boyish charm; the interesting fabrics—I was in heaven. But I didn’t know too much about the brand or the woman behind the line until recently. Now ‘Im even more in love!!! Here’s a few fun facts about A.L.C. and the genius behind the line.
1. Launched by Andrea Lieberman in 2009, A.L.C. stands for Andrea Lieberman Collection.
2. She’s a little globe trotter! Born and raised in NYC, Andrea Lieberman attended Parson’s to study fashion with the dream of one day launching her own label. After graduation she traveled the world, working for the likes of Giorgio Di Sant’Angelo and Romeo Gigli. She also spent two years living in Africa where she became inspired by eccentric jewelry and fine textiles.
3. A.L.C. wasn’t Andrea’s first venture. After returning to NYC, she opened her first boutique called Culture and Reality, which eventually led her into the world styling.
4. She got up close and personal with Gwen Stefani and was even involved with the initial design and launch of L.A.M.B. Who knew?!
5. In her styling career, Andrea Lieberman was responsible for THIS. True story.
Here’s a few of my favorite pieces from her line available on Shopbop. But be sure to check out her website, too!! So many more dreamy pieces. Her spring 2013 line is literally killing me. Anyone have a black amex they feel like parting with?

While I’m loving the leather trimming we’ve been seeing EVERYWHERE, I’m still a sucker for leather leggings, tops, dresses and SHORTS!!! For some reason I never got around to buying a pair last season… but I never make the same mistake twice. And I’ve found so many amazing leather shorts to choose from–even some bargain buys in the favorites below! Leather shorts are hands down the best way to add a little umph and edge to your look and they’re so easy to style. Even a plain white t-shirt does the trick and BAM, you look super put-together and stylish. Dying over the elastic waisted ones with zipper pockets–so gorgeous, right?! Here’s a few of my favorite looks.

As I mentioned the other day, I absolutely love the twists on floral inspirations out this season. The floral trend is obviously one that’s consistent season after season, but I love the darker approach to florals this season–The flowers just really pop, don’t they!? You can master the floral trends in one of two easy ways: Pair them with bright solid tones (maybe even try the whole ‘opposite of the color wheel‘ trick!). Or you can opt for muted tones and simply add the outfit surprise with textures and pattern. Stripes are the easiest pattern to pair with florals–never fails! I loved pairing these floral options with stripes, metallics and brights–so perfect.
And don’t even get my started on how much I love the reversible options! Helllllllloooo to these pants!!! Two pants in one–one of them being such a fun floral punch! Love it.

A far cry from the white-out looks I’ve been obsessing over, bold print pants are such a fun way to spruce up your spring wardrobe. I love!!!! If you’re a little intimidated by print pants, you can always start slowly with some muted hues and pair them with solid colors (as seen in the first outfit inspo below). But trust me, you’re going to get addicted! Just like a roller coaster, print pants are kind of scary at first, but once you bite the bullet you want to go again and again and again! Plus, I hear they bring spring. XO!

Melanie of La Belle Mel and I had so much fun playing with brights that we both ended up putting a couple looks together. I absolutely loved this skirt. Its such a perfect work-skirt for spring, isn’t it?!
And thanks to Mel for snapping these pics!! Hmmmm can you tell which ones she takes and which ones the hubs takes? Hilarious. He’s learnin’ :) Check out her brights post too!! She sooo scored on that Rebecca Minkoff Bag, right?!

Say to self three times. Repeat. I’m so ready for spring and willing it so with bright bright bright colors. If you live in the D.C. area and happened picked up the latest issue of the Washingtonian Magazine, you know this is my favorite spring trend!! And having fun with brights for spring can be done in so many ways. As I mentioned the other day, bright print pants are so much fun to experiment with, but I also love color blocking with bright tones like pink + orange and cobalt + yellow. But for this look I went in a different direction. I mean… I obviously I had to accommodate the skirt. It deserved to be the star.

I guess I have to admit that I’m on a bit of a white kick! As you’ve seen here and here, I’m prepping to be in full white-out mode once we get some sunny days here in D.C. But it occurred to me this weekend that it’s been a while since I invested in a really nice little white dress (or an LWD, as we all know it). I think after my wedding I was just white dress’d-out, you know? But this year I’m ALL about the LWD. Love love love! The ‘occasion’ LWD and the fancy LWD are always great pieces to have on hand, but the ‘everyday’ LWD is the one you want to really think about. I like to find everyday white dresses that can be easily layered in various ways, but can also hold their own — perfection. I think the layering possibilities tend to be an after-thought when shopping for a little white dress–so think about it! Here’s three of my favorite thus far. I’m definitely dying over the Ellery dress. In my dreams, but it’s so gorgeous!! And I must admit, this dress gets a much-deserved honorable mention. I love anything with cut-outs right now!!!
