Are any of you in or from the UK–love you Brits–and love you even more now that I’ve heard of Selfridges the uber chic department store that offers the creme de la creme brands in addition to unique shopping experiences such as SILENT shoe shopping and exclusive collections and collabs with the classics–after all, they’ve been around since 1910!! We’re talking solid spots in fashion and retail history here. How can a department store have that much history wrapped up in a glitzy, swanky bow? Oh, let me count the ways…
1. Twas the night before Christmas when a man named Michael Bond bought his wife the last bear on the shelf at Selfridges in London. They named the bear Paddington and later launched the The Paddington Bear! Stop–this gets better..
2. On July 25 1909, French aviator Louis Bleriot flew across the English Channel from Calais to Dover, earning his place in history as the first person to successfully fly over water. His fragile monoplane was placed on show at Selfridges, where over 150,000 visitors queued to see it. Talk about a crazy cool collab!
3. (my favorite!) In 2007, Hermes created two exclusive Birkin bags in the Selfridges yellow Pantone 109. More than 1,000 people tried to buy them! So fun, right!?
But unlike most retailers, their unique shopping experiences aren’t limited to in-store buyers–they make quite an effort to give their online shoppers a taste of the Selfridges fun, too, i.e.: this beyond adorable “Not Your Usual Christmas” video they created to introduce their luxury gift guide! If this doesn’t get you into the holiday spirit, I don’t know what will!
Not to mention, the gift guide is probably the most comprehensive gift guide I think I’ve ever seen–I love it! And it couldn’t be more appropriate that I fancy the gift guide titled “The Tricky Girl.” My husband wouldn’t argue that one to be accurate! Im admittedly THE HARDEST PERSON to buy for (you know me–Im a details gal). But let’s be honest–here it is, four days before Christmas and I STILL don’t know what Im getting for the hubs! Which would mean, of course, I would say he is one “Tricky Male” (He’s one of those guys thats so easy to shop for that it’s insanely difficult). Luckily (!!!!!!) Selfridges has a guide for that too! How incredibly chic is this grooming box?! Definitely swing by to watch their video, get into the Christmas spirit and browse their gift guides! Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to you!

As many of you know, I’ve been photog freelancing in the DC area and the other day I met with DC stylist and founder of STYLE’N, Naina to shoot one of her holiday looks–isn’t it so chic!? Nothing beats an LBD with leather and metallic accents, if you ask me. Definitely hop over to her blog and check out her whole look! (And browse around because she has some super fun eye candy!)
P.S. Samantha have a few new photography projects in the works! If interested in booking a shoot, “shoot” me an email! We plan on doing a lot more photography in the D.C. area and will soon have some big news! Deets on that to come–just get you “Confetti” ready!

I’ve been meaning to whip up a post about shearling vests and jackets ever since I got this leather jacket, so when a reader and good friend tweeted a request for a post centered around shearling vests, I couldn’t have more be enthused! Shearling vest are the perfect answer to warm and cozy winter layering. They can be worn with such panache making them perfect for a totally hippie-inspired chic look or a relaxed but daring layered ensemble. Pefection! And oooooooh-so-warm.

We may have to bundle up now, but I’m not willing to give up pretty pretty skirts! As you know, I’m obsessed with leather skirts this season and they pair so well with tights and heels! I’ve actually been eye-ballin’ this leather panel skirt for a while… what do you think?
Here’s a few of my favorite inspirations. Do you have a leather skirt yet?

Have you checked out LXR & Co.? Amazing. It's kind of like Gilt in that they have daily curated sales but it’s like Gilt meets vintage perfection. The curated collections, typically categorized by design but sometimes guest-curated by theme, are sick. They’re made up entirely of glam vintage collections, full of pieces like vintage Chanel, vintage Louis, and (be still my heart) vintage Herems… all the classics. It’s headquartered in Montreal but, lucky us, they just launched their online shop in October of this year!
The curators brutally scrutinize the pieces, bringing in top experts to make sure they’re offering the creme de la creme in vintage. Definitely the perfect gift for mom or the best friend who appreciates glam and classic pieces, or for… yourself! hehe… I know I wouldn’t mind receiving this perfect-for-everything-for-as-long-as-you-live Louis!
And call me a romantic, but I’ve always wanted to own vintage Hermes because I think it’s such a timeless piece to give to your daughter or daughter-in-law some day–so sweet, right!?
It’s members only, so when you visit you just sign up really quick using your email or FB. (thank God for sign up using Facebook, right? easy peazy!) Definitely check out LXR & Co. asap and fall in love with everything like I did! Like this Hermes cuff… and this Chanel necklace… and.. you get the idea. xo!
You can even follow them on twitter to get the deets on upcoming sales at @LXRCo
Oh! P.S. If you live in the Beverly Hills are, be sure to swing in and check out their recently opened flagship shop! Can D.C. be next please?

I found this pillow whilst browsing around this weekend and it totally reignited my love for brozey-brown, black and cream. Similar/exactly the same as the color combo seen in the last Outfits Inspired by Art, this color combo is beyond gorgeous, isn’t it!? What a totally chic color combo for the winter. And so long as it’s the season to appreciate all-things-shimmery, adding a little bronzy shimmer to your ensemble is a totally unique way to stand out amongst all the gold and silver sequin. Plus, adding a little bronzy flair is totally cute when worn dressy or casually! Both This sweater and this top would be equally stunning with some boyfriend jeans, wouldn’t they? Perfection.
P.S. If you saw me instagram this pic, you know I can’t even talk about how obsessed with that Rachel Zoe jacket I am… It’s dreamier in person, believe it or not! *sigh* A girl can dream, can’t she?
Happy Monday!
